Real Friends & Knuckle Puck Holiday Show Chicago, IL (1/2/18)
Welcome to 2018! I have a lot of high hopes and expectations for this account this year, and I am hoping to watch it grow into something amazing. This post is actually from my last concert of 2017, but since I was busy with the holidays I just couldn’t find the time to sit down and write my thoughts, but here they are.
Holiday shows always have a special feeling to them. The crowd is united by the knowledge that for most, this will be the last concert of the year, and that’s something to celebrate. Real Friends and Knuckle Puck had that exact feeling at their two sold-out shows at The Metro Chicago on December 29th and 30th. I attended on the 29th, and while I was not feeling my best, the energy from the crowd made up for it. The openers, Hot Mulligan and This Wild Life, captured the audience’s attention, making the show special from the get-go. Both Knuckle Puck and Real Friends put on a great set, but again, what really made this show special was the crowd. Without the “feeling” I have mentioned, the show wouldn’t have been the same.
I don’t have much to say about this show as I was not feeling well the night of, so it wouldn’t be completely fair to judge it in its entirety. Overall, however, it was a great show, and I am so glad to have ended my year in that way. Here’s to making 2018 even greater.
