Thank You, Warped Tour
As summer is winding down yet my life remains incredibly hectic, I’m finally taking the time to get back to writing reviews and working on building this website and Concerts With Camie as a whole. I wanted to start with writing about one of my favorite music experiences this summer.
I was given the opportunity to work on the final run of Warped Tour this summer. I attended 6 different dates and worked at 5 of them, getting an idea of what touring may be like. This experience was so eye-opening and humbling. I came to the realization that this career path is where I want to be for the rest of my life. I got to see my favorite bands from behind the merch table, hand out CDs and talk to so many people throughout all of the venues, and interact with people who had the same passions as I do.
I drove to so many different states and even travelled to Canada for the first time, all because of Warped. I was able to see some of my favorite bands from side-stage, and I loved every second of working, because to me, it wasn’t work. I had the time of my life.
I am so grateful for everything Warped Tour has done for me, not only this year but every year I attended. It was with a heavy heart that I left my last date, said one last goodbye, and drove home. I remember saying to my friend, “this is what they mean when they talk about ‘the good ‘ole days.”
I hope everyone gets to experience this kind of love for their career at one point in their life. I will be back and more active starting now. Thank you for giving me a foundation for my career, and for the last time, thank you Warped Tour.
